RELPT052 Religions of China & Japan: Confucianism

 

Course Description

This is an introductory course in the basics of Confucianism. Major topic areas include History, Worlds of Meaning, and Spiritual Practices. Student is expected to become aware of Confucianism, understand its means of thought, and compare Confucianism to one's own faith. The community course will only offer lecture material.  The Professional Technical course with add texts and assessment to the lectures.  Hours: 1

Outcomes

The successful student will:

  1. Develop a basic frame of understanding of the concepts, language, and skills related to Confucianism
  2. Respect and appreciate ethical behavior in Confucianism
  3. Compare and contrast Confucianism to one's own faith
