RELPT023 Ancient Religions: Shamanism

 

Course Description

This is an introductory course in the basics of Shamanism. Major topic areas include History, Worlds of Meaning, and Spiritual Practices. Student is expected to become aware of Shamanism, understand its means of thought, and compare Shamanism to one's own faith. The community course will only offer lecture material.  The Professional Technical course with add texts and assessment to the lectures.  Hours: 1

Outcomes

The successful student will:

  1. Develop a basic frame of understanding of the concepts, language, and skills related to Shamanism
  2. Respect and appreciate ethical behavior in Shamanism
  3. Compare and contrast Shamanism to one's own faith
