Social Trauma Volunteer

of the West Central Mountains

 

Social Trauma Volunteer students will be invited to train with the regional Trauma Intervention Program (TIP).  The purpose of TIP of the West Central Mountains is to provide immediate emotional and practical support to survivors of tragedy. As TIP Volunteers they respond on a 24/7/365 day basis to requests for assistance from police officers, firefighters, paramedics, deputy coroners, and hospital personnel.

 

Volunteers respond to support survivors of all types of tragedy including sudden deaths, suicides, auto accidents, drownings and sudden infant deaths. TIP Volunteers also support travelers when tragedy occurs in the West Central Mountains when they are far from home.

The TIP Mission:

Our citizen volunteers will provide emotional first aid to survivors of tragedy in order to ease their immediate suffering and facilitate their healing and long term recovery.
