   McCall College’s YOGA Business & Spirituality Certificate is a 2 year program designed to equip the YOGA student with skills in the teaching of Yoga, business management, finance, and spiritual development to enable them to thrive and prosper in the real world of business. Your professors will be qualified teachers and will have years of Yoga, business, and spiritual experience to pass on to you. Our goal is to give you the tools to compete in today’s business and spiritual environment with competency and integrity.

The YOGA Business & Spirituality Entrepreneurship Certification builds sensitive Yoga teachers and competitive business-people. As well, our academic community recognizes a responsibility to the broader community in building the student as a whole person through broad-based education, scholarship, and service.

An early course, RELPT 111/2 “Introduction to Spirituality & Social Business” is recommended before the balance of the series of courses in the YOGA Business & Spirituality program.

RELPT111/2 (BUS111/2) Introduction to Spirituality & Social Business

This is an introductory course in the basics of spirituality and understanding business and business principles and practices. The first 8 weeks of the course will focus on spiritual development.   Major topics will include defining spirituality and religion.  A overview of religious traditions and their role in society will be offered.  During the 2nd 8 weeks, major topic areas include social business, business ownership, business management, management of human resources, marketing, decision-making, information technology, and managing financial resources. Included in these topical areas, you will learn what it means to own your own business, act responsibly and ethically, manage and lead “human resources,” market your product(s)/service(s), use information technology, and manage finances.

 

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students should meet the following objectives:

• Develop a basic frame of understanding of the concepts, language, and skills related to spirituality & business

• Respect and appreciate ethical behavior in spiritual endeavors & business

• Explain what is involved in starting, owning, and managing your own business with a social perspective

• Learn and grow through problem-solving case study activities related to real spiritual concerns and & business situations
