Course Description
GEDPT020 General Education in Language Arts
(GED-LA)
This class is designed to help students pass the Language Arts portions of the GED test and also for students who want to "brush up" on their reading and writing skills. The student will be able to interpret and analyze a variety of texts for the reading section of the GED and will practice effective writing in preparation for responding to the writing portion. Hours: 2
This is a non-accredited, Professional-Technical course offering practical job skills for which you will receive a Certificate of Completion, but not transcripted credit.
Outcomes
GED-LA 1 Students will show an increase in language arts vocabulary.
GED-LA 2 Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of a variety of texts.
GED-LA 3 Students will have an understanding of key elements of writing
GED-LA 4 Students will pass all the reading and writing sections of the GED Language Arts Exam.
