Position Summary:
McCall College invites applications for a 1-time contract faculty position at the rank of Instructor.
The focus of this position is to instruct GED and faculty specialty courses at McCall College. The instructor will champion other instructors with reading and writing content in GED courses.
The incumbent instructor will teach one 3 hour per week, 12-week course entitled, “Language Arts and Reading Comprehension” (GEDPT020). The course is a hybrid design with face-to-face classroom instructions and on-line components. GED courses are taught in the evenings to accommodate adult scholars.
Reports to the President of McCall College.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English or teaching with high school English certification, or equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications: Expertise in high school level Language Arts and Reading Comprehension, with a knowledge of the English GED content. Prior teaching English to adult scholars is optimal. A working knowledge of teaching online within the Moodle or other online education platform is helpful. Experience working with a diverse population from many backgrounds and abilities is preferred. Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus.
Appointment Terms:
One-time contract with an anticipated start date of September 26th, 2022. This position is subject to available funding. Notice of funding is September 1, 2022. All face-to-face instruction occurs onsite at The McCall College Park Place Professional Center in McCall. Remuneration is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
