An introduction to environmentalism through the lens of the spiritual traditions of the world, Our environment needs help. Our spirituality gives us tools to help. Study all the major spiritual and religious traditions of the world to find those tools. Extensive readings offered. Vigorous classroom environmental and spiritual discussions. A meaningful project to help the environment. Hours 3/3
Credential: This will begin the student into the EcoEthicist (CEE) credential.
Completion of a major environmental spirituality project is the criteria of the credential.
This is a non-accredited, Professional-Technical course offering practical job skills for which you will receive a Certificate of Completion and transcripted hours, but not transcripted credit.
The successful student will:
1) Develop a basic frame of understanding of the concepts, language, and skills of environmental spirituality
2) Respect and appreciate ethical behavior in the environment using spiritual tools.
3) Compare and contrast the faith traditions in how they value the environment
4) Learn and grow through discovering new concepts and patterns of spirituality.
5) Design and develop a meaningful environmental project that enhances spirituality.
